NEW DELHI: The
Delhi Police on Friday arrested two more men in connection with the firing incident outside Bollywood actor Disha Patani’s ancestral home in Bareilly earlier this month.
The arrests come just two days after two shooters linked to the Rohit Godara–Goldy Brar gang, who were directly involved in the September 12 firing, were killed in an encounter near Tronica City in Ghaziabad.
According to investigators, the gang’s motive was to spread fear in Uttar Pradesh. The assailants had fired multiple rounds outside Patani’s Civil Lines residence around 3.45am.
UP ADG (Law and Order) Amitabh Yash said the two slain shooters, Ravindra and Arun, were identified as members of the Goldy Brar gang.
Two others allegedly conducted reconnaissance before the attack. Goldy Brar later claimed responsibility on social media, while gangster Rohit Godara vowed revenge for the deaths of his shooters.
During Wednesday’s encounter, a Haryana Police constable sustained a bullet injury to his chest. Police also recovered two sophisticated pistols and a large cache of 9mm cartridges from the scene.
The Delhi Police said further investigation into the wider network of the gang and its associates is underway.
