NEW DELHI: A tea vendor was killed after being hit by a
Delhi Police PCR (Police Control Room) van in the Mandir Marg area on Thursday.
According to police officials, the incident occurred when the PCR van's driver accidentally pressed the accelerator, causing the vehicle to lose control and mount the roadside. The van struck the victim, identified as Ghanshyam Tiwari, who ran a small tea stall on Panchkuian Road.
Sources said the van suddenly veered towards the side of the road, crashing into Tiwari's stall. Despite immediate rescue efforts, he died on the spot due to severe injuries.
Both the officers SI Jagjivan and constable Kimesh were suspended.
