Delhi-Dehradun Expressway ready for inauguration: What you need to know

PM Narendra Modi is set to visit Uttarakhand on April 14, where he will inaugurate the much-anticipated Dehradun-Delhi Expressway, a major infrastructure push aimed at improving regional connectivity.

The 210-km-long Dehradun-Delhi Expressway will strengthen connectivity between Uttarakhand and New Delhi, easing traffic congestion and improving travel efficiency.

Travel time between Delhi and Dehradun is set to reduce to over two hours, offering faster and more convenient road connectivity.

The expressway will include five toll plazas and is expected to enhance regional transport and economic activity.

Ahead of the Char Dham Yatra starting April 23, a high-level review meeting was conducted to assess readiness across departments.

Authorities have stepped up arrangements at the temple premises, with elaborate floral decorations using flowers sourced from Vrindavan and West Bengal, underlining the significance of the visit.

Shubham Goswami, son of Mahant Raman Prasad Goswami said, "PM has an event here on the 14th. He will have a darshan at Ma Dat Kali. You can see that preparations are underway...PM will have the darshan for 5-10 minutes."

The event is expected to be attended by senior leaders including Pushkar Singh Dhami and Yogi Adityanath.

Before the formal inauguration, the Prime Minister will offer prayers at the historic Dat Kali Temple, a revered religious site, as part of his visit itinerary.

Authorities are ensuring arrangements for accommodation, drinking water, sanitation, electricity, and parking, with Dhami stating, "All preparations for the Char Dham Yatra have been completed. Continuous review of it is ongoing... Every department is making proper preparations for the tasks that need to be done. We will welcome all devotees coming to the Char Dham."
