Delhi CM releases report card to mark one year in office
NEW DELHI: Delhi chief minister Rekha Gupta on Friday released a report card to mark her government's one year in office.
CM Rekha Gupta took the occasion to highlight the achievements of the BJP government and slammed the previous Aam Admi Party (AAP) led government.
"...Today's report card reflects the facts of our one year of hard work and change. This government is not a government of promises, but of results. This government is not a government of announcements, but of action. In one year, we have tried to take Delhi from stagnation to progress. We tried to take it from excuses to solutions, from advertisements to development," CM Rekha Gupta told reporters.
She claimed to have "changed" the work culture of the National Capital, while moving away from the "tweet politics" to "offering solutions".
"With every step we took, the government focused on less paperwork and more work. I can say that the government in Delhi today does not engage in poster politics, does not engage in tweet politics. We have transformed Delhi's work culture. We offer solutions, unlike previous governments, who used to make noise...Today, as we complete one year, I can confidently say to the people of Delhi that we have worked across every sector to bring about positive change in Delhi..."
On the occasion, CM Rekha Gupta offered prayers at the Margat Wale Hanuman Baba Temple.
After offering prayers, Delhi CM Rekha Gupta expressed gratitude to the people of Delhi and asured that the five years will transform the condition of Delhi.
"I thank the people of Delhi from the bottom of my heart, who gave this opportunity to the BJP to serve in Delhi. I want to thank the Prime Minister that he entrusted the responsibility of Delhi, the capital of the country, to a worker like me, and trusted me. I also thank and congratulate all the workers of BJP... Today, the government has completed one year. I assure you that the tenure of five years will change the condition of Delhi."
Meanwhile, Delhi government on Thursday inaugurated new Atal Canteens across the national capital, which would provide meals to nearly 70,000 people on a daily basis.
CM Rekha Gupta, along with Delhi Minister Ashish Sood and Lieutenant Governor Vinai Kumar Saxena, launched the canteens aimed at providing affordable meals to residents across the city.
The chief minister said that the launch of new Atal Canteens marks a moment of joy for the people of the national capital, with around 70,000 people expected to receive meals daily.
She said the government is fulfilling former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee's dream and highlighted that 70 Atal Canteens have now been established across the city.
CM Gupta told reporters, "It is a moment of joy for the people of Delhi. Every day, 70 thousand people will get food at these Atal Canteens. We are fulfilling Atal ji's dream and have successfully completed one year of government in Delhi. We have established 70 Atal Canteens across Delhi. It is a great experience for us.
