As Delhi experiences its coldest December in decades, the capital-based IPL franchise Delhi Capitals conducted a 'Blanket Collection and Distribution Drive' in association with Uday Foundation, Robin Hood Army, and the people of Delhi. This new campaign focuses on providing blankets to the underprivileged and urges people to come forward to spread the warmth.
The 15-day long drive was carried out in the city from December 16-31, wherein residents were also encouraged to join the franchise's volunteers in donating spare/unused warm clothes and blankets to help underprivileged and homeless persons.
While the Uday Foundation has been collecting the blankets and warm clothing, the Robin Hood Army has been in-charge of the distribution of the blankets to the poor.
Mr. Dhiraj Malhora, CEO, Delhi Capitals, says, "All of us at Delhi Capitals felt that this was the initiative that was required, given the severe cold waves that have been hitting Delhi this month. We wanted to ensure that we can help the underprivileged of our city in some way."
