NEW DELHI: NEW DELHI: Dense fog and low visibility disrupted flight operations at Delhi airport on Tuesday, with at least 60 arrivals and 58 departures cancelled, while 16 flights were diverted during the morning hours. The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), operated by DIAL, handles around 1,300 flights daily.Earlier, Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) posted on X that all flight operations were continuing as normal, but flights not compliant with CAT III landing systems might be affected.

Amid the fog and low visibility, the Civil Aviation Ministry instructed airlines to strictly follow passenger facilitation norms.The airport confirmed that on-ground officials were deployed across terminals to assist passengers and provide necessary support, according to news agency ANI.Airlines, including IndiGo and Air India, issued advisories as visibility fluctuated.IndiGo said in its advisory: “#Delhi and #Hindon airports continue to remain wrapped in chilly winter air and lingering fog this morning. Fluctuating visibility has led to changes in flight schedules, and operations may be slower than usual. Our on-ground teams are prioritising safety and compliance with visibility requirements. Passengers are advised to monitor flight status via [link], and impacted passengers can rebook or claim refunds. Our airport teams are available to assist as needed. Once the weather improves, operations will gradually stabilise. Thank you for your patience.”(With agency inputs)
