Cricketer Murali Kartik involved in car crash in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Indian cricketer Murali Kartik and his wife, Shweta, had a narrow escape after their Volvo car collided with a Mahindra Xylo near the Polish embassy in Chanakyapuri.
The incident took place around 12:15am on Thursday when the couple was returning from a hotel in central Delhi to their home in Green Park. "Kartik was driving towards Niti Marg from the slip lane when the accident took place.The Xylo was coming from the airport and going towards Mayur Vihar," the officer said.
Kartik and Shweta, who sustained minor injuries in the accident, took the driver of the other car to a hospital in Ghaziabad. Sudeep, who was travelling in the Xylo, fractured his right hand while the driver and another occupant suffered minor injuries, police said.
No case has been registered. "Neither Kartik nor Sudeep have filed a complaint but we may register a case on our own after recording their statements," said a police officer.
