New Delhi: Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan and chief minister Rekha Gupta on Tuesday inaugurated a CM Shri School at Sarojini Nagar, marking the launch of an education initiative in the capital. Foundation stones for 75 CM Shri School projects across Delhi were also laid simultaneously.
Delhi's CM Shri School initiative was introduced in line with the National Education Policy (NEP), with the aim of providing modern, technology-integrated education and improved learning infrastructure for students.

Addressing the gathering, Pradhan said Delhi govt had made commendable progress in fulfilling its commitments in the education sector.
Chief minister Gupta emphasised that the CM Shri Schools represent more than just new infrastructure, describing them as a step towards making Delhi's children globally competitive.
Delhi education minister Ashish Sood said that at a time when the Global AI Impact Summit is being discussed internationally, Delhi is simultaneously launching an AI-driven education ecosystem, underlining its commitment to technology-led learning.
Senior officials from the department, along with teachers, parents and a large number of students, attended the event.
Calling the establishment of 75 CM Shri Schools a significant milestone, Pradhan said Delhi govt has set an example by developing institutions of high standards. "These schools will provide children from economically weaker, lower and middle-income families with modern facilities and technologically advanced education that is comparable to private schools," he said.
The minister added that implementing the National Education Policy effectively remains a key responsibility as lakhs of students pursue education in the city.
Gupta reiterated that education reforms must go beyond physical infrastructure. "These schools are being developed as centres of excellence, integrating modern technology, skill education, career guidance and holistic personality development. Our aim is to create an education system that prepares children not only for examinations, but for life," she said.
The CM added that AI-enabled smart classrooms equipped with interactive panels, digital learning content and advanced tools are being introduced to enable personalised learning based on individual student abilities.
Sood said that before the completion of govt's first year in office, 7,000 classrooms would be converted into AI-enabled smart classrooms. "Earlier, schools lacked fully functional ICT labs. Now, 175 new labs equipped with 7,000 computers are being launched. In addition, more than 100 digital libraries and over 175 language labs are being dedicated to the public," he said.
Highlighting the expansion of facilities across the city, Sood added that technology-enabled education was earlier concentrated in select areas. "Now, digital education is being delivered uniformly. Equal opportunities are now being extended to students across Delhi," he said.
