Chargesheet filed against blast accused
NEWDELHI: The special cell of Delhi Police on Wednesday filed the thirdsupplementary chargesheet in the September 13 serial blasts happened last year.Filing the chargesheet before chief Metropolitan Magistrate KaveriBaweja, The Delhi Police alleged the involvement of Mohammad Akbar IsmailChoudhary, the member of media wing of Indian Mujahideen (IM), for helping insending terror mails to the TV channels before and after the blasts in Delhi,Jaipur, Surat, Ahmedabad and Bangalore. Choudhary has been chargedunder various sections including Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, theExplosive Substances Act and Information Technology Act. Choudhary remained inthe custody of Mumbai ATS, Gujarat ATS, Hyderabad and Bangalore police beforecoming to Delhi. Choudhary was brought to the capital on June 11this year by the special cell. The chargesheet said Choudhry played an importantrole in sending mails after all the blasts. "He was actively involved in Delhiblasts and was in touch with Mohammad Atif Ameen, who is dead now, and MansoorAsghar Peerbhoy in Mumbai. He took directions from Peerbhoy, who was the head ofmedia wing. He also used to reccee places where unsecured WiFi connections wereactive. He was entrusted with the task of sending mails along with others. Hehad collected all the TV channels email IDs,'' it said. Choudharywas arrested by Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) along with 14 othermembers of the outfit between September 28 and October 5 last year from Pune,Mumbai and several places in UP.
This is the eighth chargesheet inthe blasts. Five main chargesheets were already filed against members of DelhiIM module members Mohammad Saif, Zeeshan Ahmed, Zia-ur-Rehman, Saqib Nisar,Mohammad Shakeel, Mohammad Sadiq Sheikh, Qayamuddin Kapadia and Mohammad Hakim,in December and February while two previous supplementary chargesheets werefiled against Mansoor Asghar Peerbhoy, Mobin Kader Sheikh, Asif Bashir Sheikhand Mohammad Hakim in April this year.
