has appointed a new

vice-chancellor

— Malabika Sarkar — after the Pratap Bhanu Mehta stepped down from the post.


Malabika Sarkar was the principal advisor (academic) and former dean of faculty and research of the university. According to the university, Mehta stepped down from the post to focus on his academic ambitions. He will continue to teach at the university.

Sarkar was a former VC of Presidency University, Kolkata, and a professor of English literature. “I look forward to working with the faculty and students to build a world-class university,” said Sarkar.
