A woman was arrested from the IGI Airport on Tuesday for trying to smuggle two kilograms gold into the country.

NEW DELHI: A woman was arrested from the IGI Airport on Tuesday for trying to smuggle two kilograms gold into the country. Another one kilogram of unclaimed gold, too, was found by the officials from the toilet of a flight that arrived at the airport from Visakhapatnam.
With this, the customs officials have seized around 10kg gold in different incidents of smuggling in the past one week.

"The woman passenger was intercepted after her arrival from Bangkok," said a customs official.
On Friday, too, two men were intercepted by the customs officials after their arrival from Dubai. They were identified as Ramavadh Singh Kushwaha, a ground handling staff with Air India SATS, and Asif Ali Khan, who belongs to Delhi.
