NEW DELHI: Two people were arrested on Friday for possessing 80,000 tablets of restricted medicines which were allegedly being smuggled to the US and Canada. Authorities of the Delhi zonal unit of narcotics control bureau conducted searches at some locations in South Delhi and seized tablets of illegal anti-depressants.
Sanjay Kumar Pandey and Mahabir Singh, both residents of Sonepat in Haryana, were arrested under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
They were residing in Mahipalpur, and would courier illegal consignments to countries like the United States and Canada, sources said. The duo had been working together for the last three years.
