With eye on 2027, BJP to focus on grassroots- level workers
Dehradun: With the focus on the 2027 assembly polls, Union minister and ex-BJP chief JP Nadda interacted with the party's state core committee in Dehradun on Saturday. During the crucial meeting, he collected feedback from senior state members and directed them on the preparations for the state polls.Sharing the information, BJP state chief Mahendra Bhatt said, "The main focus of the meeting was on three issues. The first was interaction with booth and grassroots- level workers. The aim is to further improve the coordination between the govt and the organisation, for which, an important meeting is being held on Feb 17. Besides the CM, senior members and district committee members will attend these meetings."
Bhatt added the second point was to hold events for booth- level workers. The third was the training to be given to party members in view of the 2027 polls. "It was encouraging that our former BJP chief lauded the performance of the Dhami govt," he said.Earlier in the day, Nadda attended the 8th convocation of Swami Ram Himalayan University in Jollygrant as the chief guest, along with CM Dhami, who was the guest of honour. At the event, Nadda said, "A degree carries with it a responsibility towards human development and society. The next 25 years of ‘Amritkaal' will be decisive years for the creation of a developed India, in which today's youth will not only be witnesses, but also actors."Dhami added that Uttarakhand's youth power is the state's greatest strength and urged the students to utilise their knowledge, skills and sensitivity in nation-building, so that their actions clearly reflect compassion, humanity and service.Degrees were conferred on 1,001 students from the faculties of medicine, allied health, nursing, management, engineering, yoga sciences and biosciences, while 31 students were honoured with academic awards, two with Swami Ram Best Graduate Award, and 14 researchers with PhD degrees.Get the latest lifestyle updates on Times of India, along with Valentine's day wishes, messages and quotes !
