Harish Rawat on Saturday shot off a letter to Prime Minister
Narendra Modi urging him to find a solution to the hardships faced by the people after he demonetised currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 in order to
curb black money
.
In his letter to Modi, Rawat said, “While we hail the move, people continue to face problems arising from demonetisation. Keeping in view the financial problems faced by people across the country, central government should allow them to maintain the cash limit up to Rs 10 lakh and Rs 20 lakh after deduction of
Income Tax to utilize the money for various domestic and other related expenses.”

even a small trader and rickshaw-puller prepare budgets to run their homes and meet other family-related expenses like school fees and medical requirements. In such a scenario, if people are allowed to accumulate money up to Rs10 lakh to Rs 20 lakh to use it in hour of emergency, it will really help them,” said Rawat. He said that if central government allows to grant these finance-related concessions to people in general, it will provide them much needed financial assistance.
