Cop electrocuted while taking bath in US Nagar

Rudrapur: An assistant sub-inspector (ASI) at Pulbhatta Police Station in Udham Singh Nagar district died after suffering electric shock.

The incident occured when ASI Suresh Pasbola (42), who resided in the police station barracks, went to the water tank to take bath around on Tuesday morning. He came in contact with an iron solar light pole carrying an electric current while placing his clothes and shoes on a nearby wall to dry. The electric shock inflicted severe burns on Pasbola, causing him to collapse. Head constable Ashraf Khan and constable Charu Pant, who were nearby, also received electric shocks while attempting to save him. Additional police personnel arrived and rushed Pasbola to the govt hospital in Kichha. He was later transferred to a private hospital on Rudrapur Road, where doctors declared him dead.

SP (city) Manoj Kumar Katyal said, “Pasbola, a resident of Pauri Garwal, had been serving the department since 2002. His family was informed, and the body was sent for post-mortem examination.”
