Dehradun: Chief Minister
Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday conducted an on-site inspection of an under-construction bridge at Shiv Mandir on Mussoorie Road. He took stock of the work in progress on the bridge, which had been damaged by rain in Sept 2025. Notably, soon after, a one-way vehicular traffic movement had started through a Bailey bridge.
Dhami said the construction of a permanent bridge at the location is also being undertaken on a priority basis, with a target set to complete it “within the next two-three months”.
During the inspection, the CM directed public works department officials to complete the bridge construction work swiftly within the stipulated deadline, so that the general public can have ease of movement. Dhami said the bridge is a key link connecting Dehradun and Mussoorie, on which a large number of local residents and tourists commute daily.
He said that with the aim of keeping traffic smooth, the construction of a Bailey bridge for movement from both sides is being carried out. It will be completed and made operational from the other side as well.
Dhami further said that the construction of a permanent bridge at the location is also being undertaken on a priority basis. He said the state govt is continuously working to strengthen roads and bridges. “Projects related to road and bridge construction in various areas are being implemented rapidly, so that better connectivity can be provided to the remote areas of the state,” the CM added.
Dhami said that keeping in view the Char Dham yatra and upcoming Adi Kailash yatra, all concerned departments have been directed to complete the necessary infrastructural works on time.
