Monkey swept away in Ganga rescued by Rishikesh rafting team in Rishikesh

RISHIKESH: A dramatic rescue of a monkey being swept away in the strong currents of the Ganges in Rishikesh has gone viral on social media, drawing praise for the swift action of a rafting team and tourists.The incident took place during a routine trip when a team of water rafting firm was guiding tourists along the river. Midway through the journey, one of the guides spotted a monkey struggling in the fast-moving waters, unable to reach the riverbank.Realising the danger, the rafting team quickly assessed the situation and decided to intervene. Working together with the tourists on board, they devised a rescue plan to pull the animal out safely.Using a rope, the team managed to secure the monkey and carefully pull it out of the river despite the strong current. The animal, visibly exhausted, was brought onto the raft and later released safely.
