Dehradun: Days after the special task force along with members from Nehru Institute of Mountaineering pulled down about 40 structures in Kedarnath that were damaged in 2013 flashfloods, the state government on Saturday decided to prepare a separate master plan to redesign the holy town. “The objective of the exercise will be not only to help restore Kedarnath’s pristine glory, but also to make it much more comfortable for visiting devotees during their stay here,” said Badrinath-Kedranath Temple committee chief executive officer B D Singh.
An expert in the disaster management department said after the preparation of a master plan for the purpose, Kedarpuri will be redesigned in accordance with Geological Survey of India guidelines. These guidelines were laid down by a 35-member GSI team six months after the 2013 catastrophe.
