Couple from Punjab kills themselves in Mussoorie hotel room

: A 33-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman from Punjab allegedly committed

suicide

at a

hotel

room here. Their bodies were found hanging from a ceiling fan on Thursday morning.

Angrez Singh is from Faridkot district, while the woman, Rano, is from Monga. The families have been informed. According to police, the duo was involved in an extra-marital affair. “The

couple

had checked into a hotel on Wednesday night. After their meal, they told a hotel attendant to wake them up at 10am. The next morning, when the hotel staff didn’t get response after knocking repeatedly, they decided to break open the door. The duo was found hanging from the ceiling fan. Prima facie it looks like a case of suicide but investigation is on. The bodies have been sent for post mortem,” said Bhawna Kainthola, SHO of Mussoorie police station.
