Dehradun: A 22-year-old BTech student from UP was allegedly killed after two student groups of a private university in Dehradun's Premnagar clashed with rods and hockey sticks over an old rivalry. Three students of the university have been arrested, police said on Tuesday.
Dehradun SP (city), Pramod Kumar, said a caller informed cops that two groups of students were involved in a brutal clash late Monday, leaving at least one of them critically injured.
"The injured student, Divyanshu Jatrana, who hailed from Muzaffarnagar and was residing in Premnagar area, was taken to a nearby health facility, and then shifted to Doon Hospital.
He died soon after. His family later filed a police complaint in Dehradun," Kumar added.
