55yo driver dies as landslide hits truck in Tehri
Dehradun: A 55-year-old truck driver was killed after a landslide hit his vehicle near Totaghati, a chronic landslide zone in Tehri district, around 3 am on Monday.Murari Lal, a resident of Ghuttiyani village in Chamoli district, was driving on the Badrinath national highway when debris and boulders fell on the truck.

Officials said there was apprehension that a person was trapped inside the cabin of the vehicle, which was buried under debris. An SDRF team led by sub-inspector Sawar Singh Negi reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. "After efforts in the dark, the team recovered a body from the truck," Negi said.The road remained blocked due to accumulated debris. Boulders and mud were cleared later in the morning.
