3 govt school teachers suspended over irregularities in US Nagar
Rudrapur: Udham Singh Nagar district education authorities have suspended three govt primary school teachers after surprise inspections uncovered serious financial and administrative irregularities. The action was taken by district education officer Harendra Kumar Mishra on Wednesday following inspections at three schools — Govt Primary School, Baitkheri in Bazpur; Govt Primary School, Madiyahatt in Kelakhera; and Govt Primary School, Islam Nagar in Khatima.During a surprise visit to the Baitkheri school on Feb 13, officials found multiple discrepancies, including the maintenance of two separate attendance registers. Explanations have been sought from headmaster Mohammad Yusuf and other assistant teachers.Earlier, an inspection conducted on Sept 8 last year at Madiyahatt school revealed that officiating headmaster Angan Lal had gone on leave without formally handing over charge. As his response to an official notice was found unsatisfactory, he was suspended and attached to the office of the sub-divisional education officer in Rudrapur.
In another case, an inspection at the Islam Nagar school in Khatima last Sept raised doubts over the appointment of assistant teacher Kirti Rana, with allegations that she had secured the job using forged certificates. After her explanation failed to satisfy the authorities, she was suspended and attached to the sub-divisional education officer's office in Khatima."Strict action has been taken wherever irregularities were detected. The suspension of these teachers is aimed at ensuring accountability and transparency in the education system," Mishra said.
