2yo girl found within hours of abduction in Haridwar

Haridwar: A two-year-old girl, abducted while sleeping beside her mother at Tulsi Ghat on Thursday night, was found near the Haridwar bus station within hours, police said.Police said the abduction came to light on Friday morning, following which a search operation was launched. CCTV footage from the area showed a 25-year-old man abducting the child. Unable to leave the city, the accused allegedly abandoned the girl near the bus station, fearing arrest.
Efforts are underway to trace and arrest the accused, police said.The child's mother, a native of Amroha in Uttar Pradesh, is homeless and is currently living in Haridwar. She had come to the city after the death of her husband and was living with her cousin, along with her two minor daughters.SSP Navneet Bhullar said police received information around 9 am on Friday. "All teams were put on high alert and a massive search operation was launched. The girl was handed over to her family," he said.
