Two schoolgirls and a schoolboy raped by five including four minor boys in Tamil Nadu

COIMBATORE: Two schoolgirls and a schoolboy were raped repeatedly by four minor boys and an 18-year-old youth near Pollachi in Coimbatore district.
The Pollachi all women police arrested three minor boys and a youth on Friday, and the police seized mobile phones from them. The police also discovered that the minor boys allegedly recorded the sexual act using their mobile phones.
Police sources said that the two minor girls and the minor boy hailed from a village near Pollachi in Coimbatore district. The four minor boys, who were school dropouts, and the youth, who was 18 years old, raped the two schoolgirls and the boy around five times in isolated places in and around the village areas in the last few months.
The four minor boys and the youth, a daily wage labourer, often watched porn videos on their mobile phones in isolated places in the villages and raped the victims.
They also allegedly beat the victims with thorny bushes when they refused to engage in the sexual act.
The victim girls and the boy came from poor family backgrounds, and their parents learned about the incidents on Friday morning. However, the parents were not willing to file a police complaint.
The villagers contacted ChildLine (1098) over the phone and reported the incident. Based on the Child Line coordinator’s complaint, the Pollachi all women police registered a case against the four minor boys and a youth under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
Sources added that three minor boys and the youth were arrested by the police on Friday evening, and the youth was remanded in judicial custody. He was lodged at the Coimbatore central prison.
The remaining three minor boys were lodged at the observation home for juveniles in Coimbatore city. One more minor boy is absconding, and a police team has been formed to secure him.
