COIMBATORE: Two people were arrested on Saturday for murdering their employer on November 19.
The Singanallur police identified the arrested as N Sathishkumar, 26, of Rasipalayam near Sulur, and N Chandru, 30, of Karakurichi in Namakkal district. They were employed with the lathe workshop run by K Muruganandam, 45 at Irugur.
According to an investigation officer, Muruganandam was found dead with injuries to his neck and nose on November 19.

The body was sent to the Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital for postmortem and the Singanallur police had registered a case under Section 174 (suspicious death) of the CrPC.
The postmortem report revealed that Muruganandam was strangulated to death. The Singanallur police subsequently launched a probe and picked up his employees Sathishkumar and Chandru on Saturday morning. The duo confessed to the crime during interrogation.
The officer said Sathishkumar had given Rs 5 lakh to Muruganandam, who was also his business partner. “A few months ago, Muruganandam told Sathishkumar that he could not accept him as a business partner and that he had received the amount as loan. He also vowed to return the amount soon. However, Muruganandam could not only return Rs 5 lakh to Sathishkumar, but also failed to pay him salary for the last few months as the business was loss making.”

Meanwhile Sathishkumar hatched a conspiracy with Chandru, who was struggling to repay his loan, to finish off Muruganandam. “Sathish promised Chandru to run the lathe workshop together and earn enough money to repay his loan amount,” the officer said.
On November 19, the duo had liquor with Muruganandam and later strangulated him to death by using clothes and went into hiding.
