COIMBATORE: TVK cadres approached the Coimbatore city police commissioner's office on Tuesday, seeking permission to hold party president Vijay's political campaign here either on Oct 4 or on Oct 5.Vijay, who began his campaign in Trichy on Sept 13, plans to meet people every weekend. On Oct 4 and 5, Vijay will be campaigning in the Tirupur, Coimbatore and the Nilgiri districts.The party cadres, led by TVK Coimbatore district secretary Sampath Kumar, visited the city police commissioner's office on Tuesday and submitted a letter requesting permission.

Sampath Kumar told reporters that they requested the police to grant permission for Vijay's speech at Sivananda Colony. A roadmap for the party chief Vijay's visit to Coimbatore will be prepared after consultation. Last time when Vijay visited the city, there were some flaws due to overcrowding. TVK cadres would completely follow the conditions and regulations given by the police department if they are fair, he said.
