COIMBATORE: A man suffered severe injuries after the automated parking system of his sport utility vehicle (SUV) malfunctioned during a parking attempt in Tirupur on Thursday evening.The injured man has been identified as Senthil of Rayapalayam near Avinashi in Tirupur. He owns a commercial complex at Anna Nagar in Tirupur.Senthil recently purchased an SUV equipped with an automated parking system. Sources revealed that Senthil frequently utilized the automated parking function to effortlessly park his vehicle.Around 6pm on Thursday, Senthil arrived at his complex and got out of the vehicle. He engaged the automated parking system as usual. The SUV was positioned on a slope when Senthil activated the auto park mode, causing the vehicle to roll backward. This unexpected movement resulted in the SUV hitting Senthil. He suffered severe injuries on his head and legs.He was rushed to a private hospital in Coimbatore, where he is currently receiving treatment.
