Tamil Nadu Government Music College invites applications for music and dance courses
COIMBATORE: Applications are invited for music and dance courses at the Tamil Nadu Government Music College, Coimbatore.
District collector Pavankumar G Giriyappanavar announced that application forms are being issued for various undergraduate, diploma, teacher training, and evening certificate programmes in music and dance.
Candidates who have passed Class XII can apply for the three-year undergraduate degree and diploma programmes in vocal, veena, violin and bharatanatyam. There is no age limit for these courses.
For the diploma programme, courses are offered in vocal, veena, violin, bharatanatyam, nadaswaram and thavil. Applicants must have passed Class X. They should be aged between 16 and 30 years.
For the one-year music teacher training course, candidates must have passed Class X and hold either a BA in Music or an Isai Kalaimani diploma. Applicants must be aged between 16 and 35 years.
In the evening music college, two-year certificate courses are offered in vocal music, veena, and violin. Applicants must have passed Class X, and those above 17 years of age have no upper age limit.
The annual fees are Rs 3,904 for BA music, Rs 1,530 for diploma and music teacher training, and Rs 1,383 for evening courses. Students will receive an educational incentive of Rs 1,500 per month and a free bus pass.
