Man gets life imprisonment for murder in TN

NAMAKKAL: A special court in Namakkal district on Thursday sentenced a 45-year-old man to life imprisonment for murdering a dalit man.

Sessions judge for the special SC/ST court P Shanthi imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict, identified as K Saravanakumar of Maniyanoor village.

Namakkal district superintendent of police S Vimala said Saravanakumar murdered Murugesan, 43, of the same village in 2022 over a dispute. "The Nallur police registered a case, arrested him and investigated," the SP said. She lauded the police for their efforts in bringing the murderer to justice.
