Man arrested for raping disabled woman in Coimbatore
COIMBATORE: The Kattoor police in Coimbatore city have arrested a man on charges of raping a disabled woman near Gandhipuram.The arrested man, identified as M Mahesh, 32, of Thalavadi near Erode, is a driver at a textile shop here.

The rape survivor is a partially paralysed young woman. On Sunday, the woman was alone at home after her mother went for work. Mahesh entered the house and raped her.The woman informed her mother when she returned home. The mother took her to a private hospital near Gandhipuram and admitted her there. The hospital management alerted the Kattoor police, who reached there and recorded the survivor’s statement.Police registered a case and arrested Mahesh on Sunday evening. He was remanded in judicial custody.
