CPM protests spiralling yarn prices

: Voicing their concerns over the steep rise in yarn prices, CPM members staged a demonstration here on Saturday. They said the prices have increased by 30 in the past week alone. P Balan, district secretary, CITU Street Vendors’ Welfare Wing, said the knitwear makers were badly hit by the price hike. “We are struggling with fewer orders after the Covid-19 pandemic. At this juncture, the sudden hike in yarn prices has come as a blow to our revival plans.” C
