Chennai: City cybercrime wing police arrested YouTuber Maridhasin Madurai on Monday in connection with a case registered against him for making ‘objectionable remarks’ about chief minister C Joseph Vijay as well as state ministers in an interview. Officials said Maridhas was brought to Chennai, produced before a magistrate court and remanded in judicial custody. Police also seized his mobile phone and laptop to examine digital evidence.AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan and NTK leader Seeman said the arrest was unwarranted and that it reflected TVK govt’s intolerance to criticism.
