Youth beaten to death by friends after drunken row

Chennai: A 25-year-old security guard was beaten to death with a stone following a drunken quarrel with his friends near Manimangalam in Kancheepuram district on Monday night. Vijayakumar was drinking with his friend Gokul, and the latter's brother Madhavan, when a heated argument broke out between them. When Vijayakumar spoke ill about Gokul's wife, the siblings assaulted him and and repeatedly struck him on the head with a stone. Vijayakumar was taken to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed. The deceased worked at a private company in Oragadam. Police are searching for the two brothers involved in the murder. TNN
