CHENNAI: A 21-year-old woman on Wednesday filed a complaint against actor Raghuvannan (hero of 'Maran' and 'Tamil Desam'), his father Manivannan, a leading actor-cum-director and other family members charging them with plotting to kill her.
Steffi of Virugambakkam alleged that her family members were getting threatening calls from the actor's family.
She claimed that she was in love with Raghuvannan for the past seven months. Since December, Steffi has been frequenting his house too. Even his parents had agreed to their marriage. In good faith, she was also wearing a thali tied by Raghuvannan, she said.
Their relationship turned sour of late when Raghuvannan's family members started objecting to her visits. They were also not allowed to talk over phone, she alleged.
Raghuvannan's manager Ragunathan told The Times of India, "Raghu and Steffi did not have any affair. They are not married and Raghu has not tied any thali as she claims."
Meanwhile, apparently Raguvannan's mother Senkamalam had lodged a complaint with Tamil Nadu state commission for women on Tuesday charging Steffi with blackmailing and demanding Rs 1 crore from them. Commission chairperson K M Ramathal summoned the two for an inquiry. Steffi, who walked out of the meeting, claimed that the commission wanted her to sign a statement saying that they were ready to part ways as friends.
