CHENNAI: The annual Auroville Marathon organised by Auroville Runners in collaboration with the Auroville community will be held in Auroville, Puducherry, on February 18, 2024.
This edition will see three marathon categories - the full marathon for the distance 42km, the half marathon for the distance 21km and the 10km run.
The Auroville Marathon is one of the largest and most popular trails run in India, with participants from all parts of the country.Originally launched to celebrate the 40 years of Auroville, the event has been running successfully since 2008. The enthusiastic participation attracted many runners from other cities and it was, therefore, decided to make it as an annual affair.
The event is non-commercial and organised purely for the joy of running and is not timed. It considers all the finishers winners and therefore does not award any prize money, certificates.
