Vijay leads, Stalin trails as counting gathers pace in Chennai

CHENNAI: DMK leader and chief minister MK Stalin is trailing by 2,278 votes at the end of round 3 of the counting of EVM ballots in Kolathur constituency, behind TVK candidate VS Babu who has secured 12,917 votes till 10 am.

Stalin has polled 10,639 votes. The difference between the two widened by at least 1,000 votes in round 3. However, counting of postal ballots is yet to begin for Kolathur.



TVK leader C Joseph Vijay took the lead at the first round of EVM ballot counting for Perambur constituency. Vijay polled 6469 votes in the first round, DMK candidate RD Shekar polled 3472 votes. Tight contest continues in postal ballots in Perambur. DMK and TVK take the lead.
