Two women robbed

CHENNAI: Bike-borne miscreants attacked two women and snatched their gold chains in two separate incidents at Avadi and Pallavaram on Thursday afternoon and Friday morning.

At Pallavaram, Jalaja, 46, resident of Ambedkar Nagar in Pallavaram, was on her way to pay electricity bill when two men on bike followed her and spoke to her on the pretext of seeking address. The pillion rider attacked her and snatched a five sovereign gold chain from her. Jalaja, however, cried out for help and tried to chase them but in vain. Based on her complaint with Shankar Nagar police station, police have launched a hunt for the suspects.

In another incident near Avadi, 62-year-old Kamala, resident of Chinnamman Koil Street, was disposing garbage outside her house when two bikers snatched her five sovereign gold chain.

She filed a complaint with the Avadi police station and police are checking CCTV camera footages to trace the suspects.
