Two cops held for extortion

Chennai: Two police constables were arrested for extorting money from a couple who were talking in their car at Padappai near Tambaram on Saturday night. The constables threatened the couple that their act was indecent and made the man transfer 4,000 to them through Gpay.The man, a resident of Guduvanchery, was talking with his fiance in his car near Padappai when the policemen intercepted them. There, the constables asked them to pay 4,000 through Gpay. On Sunday, the man went to Manimangalam police station and filed a complaint. Constables Manibharathi, 30, and Amirtharaj, 34 were arrested.
