Villupuram: Two employees of Anbu Jothi Ashram in Villupuram, who were taken in CB-CID custody following charges of rape, torture and disappearance of inmates of a home run by the ashram, were found to be mentally unstable. The two – Muthumari and Boobalan – were admitted to government medical college hospital.
They were admitted to the home for treatment a few years ago.
The ashram management claimed that they were offered jobs as attendants as they recovered from their mental illness.
Eight people including the proprietor of the ashram Jubin Baby and his wife J Mariya were arrested in the case. One staff member was granted bail due to his old age. TNN
