TN recruits 2,538 engineers, technical staff members to fill key civil posts
CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Wednesday handed over appointment orders to 2,538 youths recruited to fill key vacancies in civil and technical posts in the municipal administration and water supply department at a ceremony in Nandambakkam. The posts include assistant engineers (civil and planning), junior engineers, technical assistants, draftsmen, work supervisors, town planning inspectors, work inspectors and sanitation inspectors.The vacancies were in directorates of municipal administration and town panchayats, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board and Greater Chennai Corporation. Out of 1.12 lakh applicants, 6,606 qualified for the counselling round held from Feb 28 to April 2, 2025. Based on merit and communal rotation, 2,538 candidates were selected.Stalin said the appointments would help accelerate civic works and improve service delivery in urban areas.
