Governor prorogues TN assembly session

CHENNAI: Governor R N Ravi on Wednesday prorogued the Tamil Nadu assembly session that commenced in January last year, according to a notification.

The notification issued by assembly secretariat said in exercise of the powers conferred by sub-clause (a) of clause (2) of Article 174 of the Constitution of India, the governor prorogued the session of the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly which commenced on January 9, 2023, with effect from the date of notification.

The first session of the assembly along with the governor's address for this year would begin next month.
