CHENNAI: Two men on a bike robbed a software engineer of two mobile phones and some cash at knifepoint at Thoraipakkam in the wee hours on Saturday. Arjith Das (23) of 6th Cross Street in MCA Nagar near Thoraipakkam was returning home sround 1.30 am when the incident happened.
The police said Das, an employee of a software firm in the Madras Export Processing Zone (MEPZ) near Tambaram, had just got off his company bus near Mettukuppam in Thoripakkam and was walking houme when the two men intercepted him.

Brandishing a knife, they snatched Rs 250 in cash and two mobile phones before fleeing on the bike. Das, who suffered a cut injury on his hands, then walked home and informed his neighbours who accompanied him to the police station where a formal complaint was lodged.
Das was later admitted at a private hospital in Perumbakkam near Pallikaranai. Police have registered a case and further investigations are on.
