Tamil Nadu: MBBS student found hanging in hostel room at Dharmapuri Government Medical College

DHARMAPURI: A IInd year MBBS student of Dharmapuri Government Medical College committed suicide by hanging in his hostel room on Saturday evening, police said.
Police identified him as K Elamparithi, 21, son of M Kannan and K Premalatha, of Muthunaickenpatti in Omalur taluk of Salem district.
Hostel mates, who found him hanging from the ceiling, alerted hostel authorities and the Dharmapuri town police.
Police sent the body to the government hospital for postmortem and registered a case.
Elamparithi has left behind a suicide note, police inspector A Nawaz said. “He was continuing the second-year studies for the second time after failing several subjects.”
