CHENNAI: At least 13 people were injured after a private bus hit the median in Tindivanam in Villupuram district during the early hours of Saturday, according to news agency PTI.
The injured were taken to nearby hospitals.

Separately, on 16 December, an accident on a state highway in Dharmapuri left four people dead, including a woman, police said.
The incident happened when a lorry travelling to Salem lost control, hitting a two-wheeler from behind and then colliding with a car coming from the opposite direction.
The deceased have been identified as V Kalaiarasi, P Dinesh, S Muniappan, and the lorry driver Arunagiri. All four died at the scene.
Two people injured in the crash were admitted to the Dharmapuri District Government Hospital.
Police and government officials visited the site to inspect the damaged vehicles, and a case has been registered.
