CHENNAI: A man employed as a ship
captain
by a private firm was arrested for verbally and physically assaulting his
neighbour
at
Adambakkam
over a feud over a parked car on Tuesday.
Police said
Bhagat Singh had an argument with his neighbour Shanthi and he abused her verbally and attacked her. Shanthi had a fall. Following this, Shanthi lodged a complaint with the Adambakkam police. The police registered a case under the IPC Section 354 (outraging the modesty of women) and arrested Bhagat Singh. He was produced before a magistrate court in
Alandur
.
Preliminary inquiries revealed that Shanthi found Bhagat Singh’s car blocking her house entrance on Tuesday when she came to draw a kolam. When she asked Singh’s wife Leema to park their car at a distance so she can draw a kolam, Leema refused to move the car and instead picked up an argument over it. Singh joined the alteracation and entered into fisticuffs with Shanthi. Further investigations are on.
