You may think that 67 years of age is too late to direct one’s debut movie. But this man would not think so.


He wrote a script, sourced money and had a brutal confidence that the movie would be a runaway hit. He was told that he should get the membership of a producers’ association for the release of the movie.

Armed with a demand draft for the membership fee, he landed in Chennai. Tension was prevailing on the association’s premises when he reached there. Cops were deployed there, and he came to know that there was an issue between two factions in the association. He informed an office staff member about the purpose of his visit. The staffer told him that it was not possible to register his name on that day. He told the staffer that he was from a distant place and was ready to wait.

“Then wait here for some time,” the staffer told him and added, “Hope you know what to do if a fight erupts here.” “What should I do?” he asked. The staffer said, “The basic thing -- run.”
