Rowdy goes to recover loan, hacked

CHENNAI: A rowdy from

Kundrathur

who tried to recover a loan was brutally hacked near

Pallavaram

on Friday evening.

Police said

Gururaj

alias Nandakumar of Pallavaram had gone to recover Rs 1 lakh that his friend Gaja had lent to Merwin a few months ago. After Merwin refused to pay, Gaja approached Gururaj who called up the defaulter and threatened him.

An altercation ensued between the two and Gururaj threatened to eliminate Merwin.

Later, Merwin called Gururaj for a duel at a tea shop where he and his three associates attacked Gururaj with weapons.The gang slashed Gururaj on his hands, shoulders and limbs. Police personnel, who rushed to the spot, took Gururaj to

Chromepet Government Hospital

where he is recovering.

A hunt is on for the four who attacked Gururaj.
