The doctors advised immediate admission to a private hospital in Chennai for consultation and treatment.
He was rushed to Chennai and was admitted at a private hospital around 2pm on Thursday. Jipmer professor and head (cardiology) Dr J Balachander accompanied him along with Raj Nivas officials .
“He complained of chest pain and uneasiness. He is stable. However, we are not taking any chances. We preferred to get him admitted to a private hospital in Chennai to go for second consultation and treatment if any,” said director (health and family welfare ) K V Raman said.
Kataria, 80, had undergone a stent surgery at New Delhi a few years ago.
Stress might have taken a toll on lieutenant governor’s health as he was busy chairing meeting since 11.30am on Wednesday. “He had lunch only by 4pm. He retired late on Wednesday night after clearing files,” said a Raj Nivas official.
