Pondy girl bags three gold medals at national skating championship

Puducherry: A Class VIII girl from the Union territory of Puducherry, Ganne Sri Sethu Sai Praneetha, clinched three national gold medals at the 56th speed skating national championship organised by the Roller skating federation of India (RSFI). Praneetha was declared the overall champion in the junior category of the championship.

She also clinched two national medals at the 64th skating nationals organized by the School Games Federation of India (SGFI). She was declared as the overall champion in the under-14 girls’ category of the championship.

She bagged gold medals in rink-1 (500m), rink 2 (1000m) and road race 2 (2000m) at the RSFI's speed skating nationals and gold medals in rink 2 (1000m) and road race 1 (3000m) at the SGFI's skating nationals. A student of St Patrick matriculation higher secondary school Praneetha is a member of Vivekanandha roller skating club. She is trained by Thomas speed skating academy coach R Thomas.
