One-hour quarantine

Newspapers

are getting warmer and may even contain vitamin D as some residents are taking extra care to keep coronavirus at bay. The lady next door, for example, picks up her favourite newspaper wearing gloves, sprays some disinfectant on it and keeps it on the windowsill to let sunlight fall on it.

The paper remains there, absorbing the goodness of the golden rays of the morning sun. She goes inside.

After an hour, she opens the door again, ready to take the paper inside and read. The daily one-hour quarantine for the newspaper started in March.

The lady, who sits inside most of the time to avoid getting infected, may be missing out on her daily dose of vitamin D. But her newspaper is getting more than its share of sunlight.
